Call Her Janie is the first book in a suspense/thriller romance trilogy that has twists and turns you wouldn’t expect. Right off the bat, the reader is put into a mystery. Our protagonist, Lizzie, has woken up from a coma. Though she doesn’t remember the event that put her in the hospital, she does remember something, and it’s heartbreaking. The second chapter is a time jump, and then the real story begins.
S. R. Fabrico’s writing style is easy to get into. Similar to other suspense romance authors, you are pulled into the mystery, and each character holds their own. With a small-town romance, it feels quaint but twisty, ending with a cliffhanger. No worries, though! This is just the first in a trilogy, and being a trilogy lover, I’m pumped to read the next book.
For the romance and suspense lover, pick this book up. But watch out for that ending, you may not be able to wait.
