Book Twenty-Nine of 2014: EAT SLAY LOVE by Jesse Petersen

Sarah and David have survived the zombie apocalypse. They stood side by side and fought the undead, mad scientists, and even bionic monsters until the unthinkable happened. A zombie bite. But not even that could stop them. Now, with a possible cure in hand, they’re headed east, looking for a safe zone behind the rumored “Wall.” They’re feeling pretty optimistic.
That is until Dave stops sleeping and starts lifting huge objects.

This is the third book in the series Living With The Dead. If you haven’t seen my reviews on the last two books, here is a quick synopsis: Before the zombie apocalypse, Sarah and David had a dying marriage. They use what they learned in marriage counseling to survive the apocalypse and since then have gone through some crazy stuff. EAT SLAY LOVE is no less crazy than the other two books.

I still love the relationship between Sarah and David, but I’m happy to see that there is more characters to get to know in this book. It can get a bit boring reading about two people and only two people. In this book, we meet an ex rock god and an Entertainment news “reporter”. They are amazing characters and work off Sarah and David wonderfully.

There is more craziness going on with Petersen’s world, cue in a government conspiracy into the mix and it becomes seriously good. This book is a fluff book, but a fun one. I don’t think Petersen lends herself to be serious as some authors dabbling in the undead do. Instead, this is full of humor and action, just like the other two. If anything, I love this book the most in the three that I’ve read.

There is a fourth book, but I’ve only seen it on Kindle or Nook. Which isn’t a problem because I have access to those as well, it’s just that I like having a series of books all in the same medium. Oh well, I have to read the fourth one. I’ll just buy it again if it ever goes in paperback (fingers crossed).
