Today is the beginning of the TOP 5 in 5! From today to the 31st, I will show you my favorite books that have been published on that year. I have read them all and, to be honest, I did read them within the time period and they probably would have made my list if I put in the top 5 read. Or at least they would have been contenders.
Oh, and no worries, all of the books are either the first in a series or they are standalone. I have this issue with reading books out of order. I’ve done it once and I was extremely confused.
Starting today, the giveaway begins. I know that everyone reads different things. Because of this, I decided that the prize on the giveaway is the winner’s choice out of the whole list. Since the giveaway keeps going from January 25-January 31, you will be able to review all of my faves and then make you
And now, here is the first in my list:
2010: The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting
Violet Ambrose is grappling with two major issues: Jay Heaton and her morbid secret ability. While the sixteen-year-old is confused by her new feelings for her best friend since childhood, she is more disturbed by her “power” to sense dead bodies—or at least those that have been murdered. Since she was a little girl, she has felt the echoes that the dead leave behind in the world… and the imprints that attach to their killers.
Violet has never considered her strange talent to be a gift; it mostly just led her to find the dead birds her cat had tired of playing with. But now that a serial killer has begun terrorizing her small town, and the echoes of the local girls he’s claimed haunt her daily, she realizes she might be the only person who can stop him.
Despite his fierce protectiveness over her, Jay reluctantly agrees to help Violet on her quest to find the murderer—and Violet is unnerved to find herself hoping that Jay’s intentions are much more than friendly. But even as she’s falling intensely in love, Violet is getting closer and closer to discovering a killer… and becoming his prey herself.
Unfortunately, I do not have a review for this book. I actually read this before I started reviewing books on my blog. I do plan on rereading it this year. Therefore, a review will happen. However, I really liked this book. The fact I am going to be rereading it says something in itself.
However, the other books do have reviews and their shortlinks are on the future pages of this Top 5 of 5 event.
And there you have it! My book for 2010! And for the giveaway . . .
