I received a copy from the author for an honest review. There was no compensation for this review and what follows is my honest opinion.
I wish I could say I liked this book. There are good things about them, but I couldn’t really get into the story itself.
The good? Well, the story is a contemporary romance between Khushi and Ashwin, two young adults in India. I couldn’t find errors in the grammatical or punctuation sense and that’s great. That said, I feel the story has great potential. The romance is there and the characters are sweet, but…
The bad? It was telling not showing. Now, I know that confuses people, but if you are reading this (which I’m assuming you are since you are here), this is me telling. I’m telling you I didn’t care for the book. I’m not showing. Showing helps the reader be in the book. However, I felt like I was listening to someone tell me a story and not being in the middle of the action.
It felt lacking, needless to say.
Because of that, I had to give it a two star. I couldn’t get into the story and stay with the characters. No matter how adorable and interesting the romance was. So, like I said, the book has potential.
