A SACRED OATH
A FALLEN ANGEL
A FORBIDDEN LOVE
Romance was not part of Nora Grey’s plan. She’s never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how hard her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch comes along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Patch draws Nora to him against her better judgment.
But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora’s not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is and seems to know more about her than her closest friends. She can’t decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For she is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen – and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost Nora her life.
My friend, Mack, and I decided to try out Hush Hush after we had read Fallen by Lauren Kate. Whereas she was a quick reader, it took me a while to actually finish the book. That said, when you compare the two fallen angel books, Hush Hush is better in my opinion.
Okay. Let me just start by saying that I found Hush Hush more enjoyable for the entertaining factor. Nora was a more engaging and the minor characters had just a bit more to them as well.
The writing is also better. That isn’t to say Fallen was poorly written. I just mean that Hush Hush had more to it in the narrative itself. There are story plotlines I liked in Fallen and there are ones I liked more for Hush Hush.
However, I wouldn’t say that I cared for the ending per se. The ending isn’t bad and it does go well with the rest of the story. I just found it to be a bit busy.
All in all though, the book was fun and there were moments I actively yelled at characters. I do plan on continuing the series and probably comparing the books with the Fallen series. Because, why not?
