MY REVIEW
I received a copy of Diamond in the Rough for an honest review. What follows is my opinion and mine alone. There was no compensation made for this review.
This is my first Skye Warren book. I was in the need for a romance with edge and I found it. Written to dual POV, the book is engaging and follows the two main leads as they escape.
The characters themselves have a bit of chemistry, but I felt there could have been more. It’s not that I didn’t connect with Holly or Elijah, I did, but I think reading the companion novella helped. That novella was this book’s prequel and set the hidden relationship and chemistry the two had before the events of the main book.
What the book did excell in was set up a world that has me wanting more. I’d love to see what happens with the minor characters as well as Holly and Elijah.
All in all, it was a good distraction from day to day life and I think I’d try another Warren book.
