“Lauren Carr is among my favorite mystery writers. She knows how to write a fun tale while keeping readers engaged. …I would give Chris Crossed Murder one hundred stars if I could. I believe readers who enjoy reading well-written and clean cozy mysteries will most definitely want to read it. I have no doubt they will enjoy it as much as I did. The fifth installment from A Chris Matheson Cold Case Mystery series is on my radar for when it releases.” – Review of CHRIS CROSSED MURDER (A Chris Matheson Cold Case Mystery, Book Four) by Amy Campbell, Locks Hooks and Books

I received a copy of Chris Crossed Murder for an honest review. What follows is my opinion and mine alone. There was no compensation for this review.
Chris Crossed Murder is the fourth book of the Chris Matheson series by Lauren Carr. Like the third book, this one is one of my favorites in the series. It has twists I didn’t see coming and a good dose of action, all while keeping the mystery interesting pace solid.
Right off the bat we are taken into a flashback during which Chris Matheson is investigating a missing person. It seems like a routine situation for Chris, that is until present day. What is great about this book is that the twists are right in the beginning. Unfortunately, that means I can’t tell you more because I will end up spoiling things.
What I will say is that we get an addition to the geezer squad, a pivotal scene in the climax, and a lot of sprinkles of foreshadowing. This was definitely one of the top books in the series. I may even say the top. That said, I did like the third one too.
If you weren’t that much of a fan of the previous books, still read this one. Seriously. If you were a fan of the other ones, it just gets better and better.
