Book Five of 2014: CONNECTED BY THE SEA by E.L. Todd

CBTS REAL cover

Sydney is attending University of Hawaii on Oahu where she’s majoring in Marine Biology. She loves her friends, her job, and her school. Since her ex-boyfriend cheated on her six months ago, she hasn’t moves onto anybody new yet. When Coen catches her eye, she’s immediately attracted to him in a very carnal way. She refused to let herself feel that way because he’s a heartbreaker just like her ex was. But when she’s called to her professor’s office because she’s asked to tutor someone, she doesn’t realize it’s Coen. Will he convince her that he really is boyfriend material or will he turn out just as she suspects?

I came across this book when I received an email by E.L. Todd requesting an honest review for a pdf form of the book. Naturally, I readily agreed.

I was confused for the first few chapters because it seemed that Todd was drilling in the relationship between Henry and Sydney. To be honest, if I hadn’t read the little blurb I would have thought those were the two that were supposed to be together. That said, once Coen brought in his handsome self, the story really began to pick up.

The setting is beautiful, but I would have loved more of it. I’ve been to Oahu twice and I love it so much that I want to one day move there. There is sun and heat, but a constant breeze that keeps you in a constant temperature. Both sides of the island are very different, but both are paradise. Though I did see some of Hawaii in it, I would have loved to see more. God, I miss it.

Anyways, with any romance there is also disruption in a relationship as well as sex scenes. The sex is steamy. Let me just say that. You think 50 Shades is? HAH! CONNECTED BY THE SEA is simple steamy. It’s the kind of steam that a normal 20 something couple would have. It’s an exploration of the body and emotions tied into it. No, there is no BDSM, but that doesn’t make it less steamy.

The main disruption is Henry and the hidden emotional baggage of our heroine. There is also a hint that more is to come, but alas, Todd only gives enough to whet your appetite and needing for more. That’s right folks, there is more, but I have yet to crack open that book. Hopefully, I will get it later… please, E.L. Todd?

So, if I interested you enough to look into it fret not. This book is coming into Amazon and will be available sometime late January or early February. Keep an eye out for it. I don’t know what mediums it will be in, but I assume eBook is the best guess.
