Book #106: Blood Witch by Cate Tiernan

Every day, I learn more about magick. The more I learn, the more my power grows. Sometimes, my own strength frightens me.

I know I’m alone, though. Cal is with me, my soul mate, my partner, my love.

Now I feel a shadow over us. When I cast out my senses, I pick up danger. But is it real, or is it all in my mind?

I was able to finish this book in one day. Ahh, just like the good ol’ days. That said, Blood Witch is the third book in a series I read back in seventh grade and decided that I’d like to revisit the series. The series deals with Morgan, a normal teenager who finds out that she is special. She is a blood witch. With the introduction to Wicca, her life changes. She has found love and is forced to fight for her own beliefs.

Blood Witch begins where The Coven ends. We learn more about the world of Blood Witches and Morgan’s own heridtary background. The world Tiernan crafts is getting larger with the introduction to two new characters and a mention to a Council of Witches. We learn that being a blood witch isn’t just following the three fold law of Wicca. There is something more and something dark involved in this world as well.

Upon rereading this book, I found myself being pulled into the same emotions I had in the past. I felt connected to Morgan’s story and the need to go back to my own pagan roots. I wanted to scream at characters for not communicating better and I felt the confusion I had on first meeting Skye and Hunter.

Even though I know what will happen next, rereading this series is great. I actually feel closer to my younger self. That said, I will be continuing with the series. I already have all of the books so I might as well.
