HAPPY NEW YEARS, EVERYONE!
Every January 1, I write a post about my intentions for the new year. Today is the day!
2024 was a challenging year for me. Many people in my life passed: my ex-husband, my future Mother-in-law, and my paternal grandmother. There isn’t much I want to dive into, but those changes were significant this year.
For instance, I now have full custody of my son. And though it’d be a lie to say I’m not thankful and happy about that, I am sorry for my ex-husband’s family. I am saddened that I didn’t have much time with my future Mother-in-law, but what time I had was the best I could ask for. She raised two great men, and I see her through them. My grandmother is now with my father and grandfather. Honestly, she’s probably driving my dad crazy right now.
Financially, the year had been up and down. I now have the mortgage to my dad’s house in my name. Having a place I’ve known for more than half my life still in our family is good. My son is happy to be with his baby girl dog, Nova Bear. My own dog, Sakura, is fourteen years old. Our cat, Athena, is being her crazy self. Honestly, I’ve never had a cat be as chaotic as her. I love it.
2025 is going to be crazy busy. I have three for sure releases coming up.
On February 28, Perfect Poppy will be launched. It is my first dark romance about two serial killers who fall in love. One is a mortician who wants that special someone to share everything in his life with. The other is a therapist trying to cope with her inner demons the best way she knows, killing abusive men.
If that piques your interest, you can pre-order Perfect Poppy here: https://books2read.com/perfect-poppy-casia-pickering
In May or June, I will be releasing Duet of the Deep. This beautiful book is the novella duology from the two Songs of the Deep anthologies, Song of Storms and Tethered Melody. The cover artist is Obsi Art. I love their work! Expect to see the cover reveal in March!
I’m also working on an Alien erotica novella. It will be released this year in an anthology with other great authors. It’s my first sci-fi, and it scares me. It’s also erotica where a human woman is being dominated by an Alien. So, yeah, that’s happening, and I hope you’re ready for it!
And, hopefully, I will have an urban fantasy launched this year. It is the first in a projected trilogy about a bookseller and their cat (a cursed witch) solving the murder of the bookseller’s boss.
All in all, it’s going to be an interesting year for me. And I hope for as much peace as possible given the political field that is in the world today. I won’t make the promise I do every year of more posts, but I will say I will try. It’s the best I can do. Thank you for still reading what I have to say. It means a lot that you’ve stuck with me for as long as you have.
I appreciate you, and I wish you the best 2025 possible.
