How’s My Writing Going?

I’m working on sharing my writing journey as I go. Granted, this is a lifelong journey and has been since I was very young, but it’s always great to share how my writing is going and what is being worked on.

I have quite a few projects going. One is a cozy mystery that my mother requested I do. It’s about a woman who owns a Queen Anne mansion and has renovated it into an inn above her residence. The town believes it is haunted. And perhaps they’re right, because Katrina Webster doesn’t wear lavender and she keeps smelling it. But ghosts aren’t what killed her friend and employee. Before she can even start her business, Katrina needs to solve the murder. Because Gracie Manor doesn’t need more than one ghost.

I don’t have a timeline for the publication of Death At Gracie Manor, but the cover is set, and I do plan on making it an audiobook. However, I have to actually finish writing it. Currently, I’m at 23,121 words. Right now, it’s on pause because I have two other projects that need to be written first.

Those two are Monster erotica. They are part of the Kinktober Reloaded series, in which a novella is released each day throughout October. My two prompts are Kraken X Somnophilia and Naga X Outdoor Sex. Neither book is finished, but the cap word count is 30,000 words for each book. That makes them an easy one-day read!

Currently, The Kraken’s Consort isn’t really started and is nowhere near finished. I have an idea of what I’m going for and I’m excited to start, but the real problem is never writer’s block, it’s the blank page before you start. Which does sound like a cop out, but it’s true. I haven’t started Serpent’s Blessing yet either. The good news is, both covers are ready to go! All I need to do is finish them, get them edited, and set up the preorder on top of getting them formatted.

That’s all that’s going on so far in my writing, but I might end up with another two projects soon. I know I have an LGBTQ+ Christmas Romance anthology coming in December, but past that, everything is up in the air. I hope to get Death at Gracie Manor published this year, though. With the possibility of the audiobook out next year. That’s if I can find a narrator or if I decide to dabble in that craft. But I’m leaning on a professional here. We’ll see.

Comment on which book sounds interesting to you, or share any suggestions for what I should talk about in future writing journey posts.
