Last Night’s Concert

Last night, my husband, Bug, and I went to see my brother J’s middle school chorus concert. It was just like any other middle school concert, but what I really liked is that it was dedicated to the people of Newtown and especially Sandy Hook Elementary. The music director choked up when she spoke and it was difficult not to remember the emotions that passed in the previous weekend.

To pass the time before the concert, I decided to take some initial shots of family and the stage.

A funny story while waiting, Monster threw a paper ball at Vic and it hit me. I told him that children can’t throw paper balls. It was the job of an adult to do that. I then threw it at him. It smacked him right in the forehead. Yep, we can’t claim to be a mature family.

I tried to hit my husband when he and Monster switched seats. Monster claimed that I was good, but really I suck. I proved it, missing my husband and hitting the girl in front of him. Of course, apologies were made.

She wouldn’t let him go through most of the concert.

The concert began and finally, the 8th grade choir started.

As was expected, all of the chorus girls squealed when J rolled on by. Apparently, he’s considered the cute boy in school. Later, when all of the choirs were put on stage for the last performance, one kid got excited saying “Yes, I get to sit next to J.”

The concert was good, but the company was better.
