Despite being the first week without J, I have been doing a lot lately. No, I’m not talking about chores. Though I have been doing that. What I am talking about is GISHWHES.
Being short for “Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen”, GISHWHES is a community and social movement with actor Misha Collins as the head of the crazed week. In case you don’t know him, he’s Castiel from the CW show Supernatural.
So, two of my friends, sisters Hime and Crys, convinced me to join their team. It is their first year, as is mine, and, it’s a bit of a learning experience. I’m glad I joined in.
The creativity that has been pulled out of my brain is something dreams are made from. I’m back to my crazy kid self. I remember making a whole kitchenette with boxes, and now I’m doing something like that only on a bigger scale. I’m almost sad that it is a one week a year deal. There is no doubt I will be doing it again next year.
And now, yes, my writing isn’t where I want it to be, but for me I know it’s where it needs to be. Creating things without words only helps my writing in the long run.
