NaNo Update 1

Alas, I wish I could say that my first week of NaNoWriMo was a productive one. It wasn’t meant to be though.

I made goal the first day and did do some writing every subsequent day, but I’m not sure where the word count is. I’m sure I didn’t make goal.

Luckily, there are more weeks and I hope to make it happen.

There have been a few hiccups this previous week. My brother, and basically job, was sick for two days. I also had a doctor appointment that took up most of the day. Turns out I have to lose weight and I’ve been walking ever since.

The most heartbreaking though is that our rescued dog, Pumpkin passed away. She had been having bouts of eating and fasting. Her calcium level was also astronomical. Her kidneys were failing, she wasn’t eating, and the vet believed she had cancer. The tests pointed to it, but there were no lumps to validate it. She passed away shortly after my husband went to bed. She got to have one last cuddle.

We knew it was coming and it was upsetting, but we are happy to say she was in our lives. She was an amazing and patient dog. The pain she went through didn’t stop her from loving and playing. It didn’t stop her from being good to Bug despite the fact I’m sure his method of love was adding her pain.

Like I said before, I did write every day. Just not enough to be on schedule. I’m hoping this week will be a bit more calm . . . who am I kidding? It’s voting week and there are two dayzs of no school for Bug and two for Jay. I’ll be lucky if I make it.
