This is the second novella to the Elemental Legacy series. Like the first novella, it is part of the prequel trilogy to the new series by Elizabeth Hunter. This new series is a part of her Elemental vampire world as seen in the Elemental World and Elemental Mysteries series.
I found this novella to be a bit less action driven than the first, but it still had the humor. The character dynamic between Tenzin and Ben is amazing. Ben makes an interesting human in a supernatural world. He treats Tenzin as a human and is probably the only person who can reel her in.
Tenzin is her typical self. She is dynamic and ancient, but has an innocence to her that’s only pushed aside when the prospect of maiming someone is going to happen.
The overall story is good. If the first book shows what the action was going to be like in the series, this one shows us what to expect in drive. We see Ben make a choice in his future and what that may mean for his relationship with Tenzin and the rest of the vampire world. It is just making me that much more excited for the full first book in the series.
